Business Overview

The four core businesses of Yamahira

We offer a one-stop solution starting with the 'purchase and wholesale of seafood' and 'retail,' followed by the increasingly popular 'manufacturing,' 'design,' and 'product planning,' and even 'commissioning' services that make the most of our ideas and expertise.

By owning our factory, we manage all processes seamlessly—from raw material acceptance to processing, packaging, and shipping. This allows us to ensure rigorous quality control and hygiene management throughout the manufacturing process, enabling the stable supply of safe and reliable products. Additionally, with state-of-the-art equipment, including sterilization systems, drying machines, vacuum packaging machines, rapid freezing equipment, and cold storage facilities, we can extend shelf life while preserving freshness and flavor, delivering high-quality products to our customers.

The Four Business Areas of Yamahira
01

Seafood Purchasing & Wholesale Division

With over a century of experience in seaside purchasing and fish market procurement, our ability to select the best products is unparalleled.

The seafood that is received and auctioned off is immediately processed and either made into products or wholesaled to markets and seafood-related businesses across the country.

Before dawn, at the fish market or unloading site, Yamahira auctions off seafood every day, ranging from fresh fish to raw materials for processed products, often amounting to several tens of tons in one day. In the lively atmosphere of the auction, we secure the items ordered by placing the ‘Yamahira’ tag. With over a hundred years of experience as a seafood wholesaler, this is a profession we have continuously followed.

Storage Division

Freshness is crucial in the food industry. This is made possible by having our own refrigerated and frozen storage facility.

We store the products we receive and win at auction in our own refrigerated and frozen warehouses, ensuring that their freshness is preserved.

We are particular about selecting fresh, beautiful, and well-marbled seasonal products at auctions. This commitment extends throughout the entire process, from transport from the market to storage. To prevent a loss of freshness until the products are delivered or processed into other items, Yamahira owns its own refrigerated storage facilities.

Features of Our Refrigerated Warehouse

1. Thorough Quality and Freshness Management

Seafood is known for its delicate freshness, which requires an environment where temperature and humidity are precisely controlled. With an in-house refrigerated storage facility, we can manage refrigeration and freezing equipment according to our own standards, ensuring that seafood is stored at the optimal temperature. This results in stable quality and the ability to maintain freshness over an extended period.

2. Rapid Shipping Response

Owning our own refrigerated storage significantly enhances the speed of shipping preparation. We can quickly prepare items for shipment based on orders, responding to the fast-paced demands of the market. This eliminates delays caused by external warehouses, allowing us to establish a stable supply system.

3. Cost Reduction and Efficiency

By managing our own storage, we can cut costs associated with using external warehouses. Additionally, handling storage and management internally streamlines inventory and stock control, leading to overall cost optimization. This flexibility in logistics ensures smooth manufacturing and shipping processes.

4. Consistency in Quality Control

Having our own storage allows us to maintain consistent quality control throughout the process, from manufacturing to storage and shipping. When outsourced, storage conditions and inventory management are dependent on third parties, which can introduce variability in quality. However, with our own warehouse, this risk is minimized, and we can maintain high-quality standards through a rigorous management system.

Manufacturing Division

Handcrafted Processed Products with Attention to Detail

Yamahira's main business focuses on safely processing and manufacturing fresh seafood. In our in-house factory, we carefully produce processed seafood products, including mackerel and eel.

We select high-quality ingredients and utilize the latest equipment to process them with great care. By preserving freshness and flavor to the highest degree, we create products that our customers can trust. Of course, we are also capable of handling just a portion of the manufacturing process if needed.
